Ingredients
- 2 pre-made flatbreads (about 8x4 inches each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 4 ounces goat cheese, crumbled
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced (chiffonade)
- 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade reduction)
- Pinch of black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place flatbreads on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush the flatbreads with olive oil.
- Arrange the sliced strawberries evenly over the flatbreads.
- Crumble the goat cheese over the strawberries.
- Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the flatbread edges are golden and the cheese is slightly softened and warm.
- Remove from the oven. Drizzle generously with balsamic glaze.
- Garnish with fresh basil chiffonade and a pinch of black pepper, if desired.
- Slice into individual portions and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For a homemade balsamic glaze, simmer 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until reduced by half and thickened, about 10-15 minutes. Let cool before using.
Ensure strawberries are ripe and sweet for the best flavor.
This flatbread can be served as an appetizer, a light lunch, or even a unique dessert.
Consider adding a sprinkle of toasted pecans or walnuts for extra crunch and nutty flavor.
